Guizhou University, a century-old academic university, has been passed generation to generation.Guizhou University (GZU) was founded in 1902 as Guizhou Institute of Higher Learning. During the period ofNational Guizhou University,“Guizhou University”was formally inscribed by Chairman Mao Zedong inNovember,1951. It is first included under the national “Project 211”in September, 2005andthen the National world-class University in September, 2017. GZU is also recognized as an institution of higher learning developed through ministerial-provincial cooperation between the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the People’s Government of Guizhou Provincein February, 2018.

With the purpose of serving local economic developmentandaccording to the needs of government, enterprises and institutions, the schoolcarriesout training for leading cadres, middle and senior management personnel of enterprises,andprofessional technical personnel, etc.So far, more than 150,000 people have been trained for government departments at all levels,and the departments ofpolitical andlawsystems, banksand finance, construction, education, electricity, tobacco, liquor and other industries as well as large and medium-sized state-owned enterprises.
The 19th National Congress of the CPC made a major decision and deployment of“implementing the rural revitalization strategy”. On April 9, 2018, Guizhou University established the“College of Rural Revitalization”and its executiveagencywas set up inSchool of Continuing Education. The establishment of the Rural Revitalization College will provide talent and intellectual support for GuizhouProvinceto fight the“targeted poverty alleviationcampaign”,andconsolidate the foundation of“rural revitalization”and build a“beautiful countryside”.
